Deanna, Lead Tutor | Founder at MTO
I have been passionate about academia for most of my life. In high school, I began to discover my love of mathematics, and have been able to follow that pursuit through my studies at Quest University. During my time at university, I found that mathematics is an incredibly creative subject. I enjoy sharing the skills that I have learned to think critically and solve problems from a creative perspective.

I have many years of experience tutoring, having worked with students in elementary school to students in high school learning calculus. I am dedicated to supporting students on their path to succeeding in their endeavours, whether that means getting through a tough course and passing, or preparing for a future career in their field.
I strive to create a learning environment that fosters a peer-to-peer mentality. This creates a space that is encouraging and non-judgmental with the intention of working towards achieving goals as a team. I look forward to helping you on your academic path!
We value learning mathematics in a way that goes beyond just learning the tools. We want to help you understand why a concept works. Overall, having a firm grasp of why and how a concept works is key in retaining information long-term.

In our experience, so much of succeeding in math is building the confidence to sit with a problem and trust that with enough patience and puzzling – and perhaps with a little guidance at the right moments – we can find the solution.
